Kate For State Rep
Background
When Kate MacLean, a friend and fellow Vermont agrarian decided to run for Vermont State Representative, she reached out to me to build her a campaign website. Kate is one of the most interesting and driven people I know and I was so excited to see her take her strong sense of civic duty to the next level. Another talented friend of mine, Andrew Plotsky, designed a kickass logo and branding system which strongly led my web design process.
Scope
- Static Website with headless CMS
- Responsive Web Design
- UX + UI
I built Kate's site using the static site generator Gatsby to create a wicked fast and optimized web experience. I chose Prismic for the CMS which allowed Kate to update all the photos and text content as she pleased. The site is hosted with and uses Netlify as a continuous deployment tool.
Sign Up Form
Static sites are lightning fast and very secure, but they often don't lend well to collecting user information. I used Mailchimp's Gatsby integration and custom Mailchimp Audience forms to create a customized form to collect relevant campaign volunteer information.
